what outlasts time? is it a place? can it home me?
what survives of us? what surpasses time? what outlasts the evening skies?
what else, if not for what we inspire? for what we leave in the hearts and minds of those that continue to live – through that of stories, of the way you hold my hand, the way i hold yours, the way we continue forwards, the way we lead each other through the dark.
this is a timeline of poetry, of feeling, of things are are both ephemeral and eternal simultaneously. that are constant and ever in flux, always a paradox of themselves.
this piece is a two parter: you listen, but you also participate.
while listening, i’d like you to have something open in front of you to write on. physical or digital, whichever is easier for you. after pressing play, whenever you'd like to begin, write. jot down your favorite lines, words that stick out to you, what these words remind you of, draw, scratch, scribble, doodle, do something. with poetry, you can’t keep it inside you. you have to let it out, somehow, you have to give it back.
